Question by Heyhey123: Does anyone know where a junk yard that you can find things like old tires and engines near South Elgin?
I’m trying to build a go kart with my friends, but I can’t find an old junk yard with parts like tires and engines. It has to be close to South Elgin. Can anyone help me?

Try a FREE yellow pages/phone service : 1-800-goog-411.
When you call a salvage yard, they will refer you to other salvage yards which have what you need.
Also, try www.car-part.com .
Are you thinking of a go-kart using the drivetrain from a Honda Civic?

Question by Appleman: What was painted on top of junk cars near the Neb/Wyo border in the 50’s and why were the cars there?
I recall driving to Torrington, WY through Nebraska in the 50’s and 60’s and seeing junk cars now and then placed in fields next to the road. The cars were tilted on edge and had something painted on their tops, hoods or trunks. My memory of the words painted on the cars is vague but I think it was “Poor Jim” Who was Jim? Was this some kind of statewide driver safety program?

You could;ve been going by the “Cadillac Ranch,” where a man buried a bunch of old Cadillacs in his field at weird angles just because “he Could!”
