Question by Heyhey123: Does anyone know where a junk yard that you can find things like old tires and engines near South Elgin?
I’m trying to build a go kart with my friends, but I can’t find an old junk yard with parts like tires and engines. It has to be close to South Elgin. Can anyone help me?
Answer by tolstoi1
Try a FREE yellow pages/phone service : 1-800-goog-411.
When you call a salvage yard, they will refer you to other salvage yards which have what you need.
Also, try www.car-part.com .
Are you thinking of a go-kart using the drivetrain from a Honda Civic?

Question by Brad B: Where in dallas can I find a cheaper center console for my boat? Any boat junk yards?
I am looking for a boat junk yard within a hour of Dallas or somewhere I can buy a center console for cheap. Thank you
Answer by Karle
um google is ur friend……
but anyway….ALL boat dealerships are mini junkyards do to the price of boat parts and such…
so call around to all the dealers and tell them what u need and see what they have/can get…..
also not sure by what u mean by console….but making one with fiberglass and some wood for forming isn’t all that hard….

Question by : How do i find old non-running junk cars for free or for very little money?
I recently bought a tow dolly and i want to start salvaging junk cars but how do i aquire them? I’ve tried placing ads on craigslist but that isn’t working, i even placed an ad in my local paper for $ 48 for 1 week and no calls. Can anyone offer me some suggestions or advice, anything you can think of?
Answer by cb
Depending on how your ad is worded many people tend to think of an offer to haul away their cars for free or little money as being a scam – the best way to start is by looking around for cars that are advertised for little to nothing and ask about local vehicles that appear to be just sitting and contact the owners – as your buisness grows – word will get around – also have a professional name for your services. You can also contact your local radio station for help in offering a free service to the community to salvage unwanted vehicles. Often times they will mention services like these for little to no cost in their community bulletin.
Don’t wait to get started for people to contact you – start by actively looking for vehicles – and don’t get discouraged, all endeavors take a little while to start rolling.

Question by Reefer_Madness: Where can I find wrecked cars online?
I’m not looking for repairable ones, in looking for collision write-offs I can chop the good half of the vehicle off and export it and throw away the scraps. anyone?
Answer by virtuallyretired
So it can be welded to another half overseas? That’s real safe. Not going to find any help here.
